Jet Surf – Motorized Surfboard
I am always on the lookout for the next big thing as it applies to my life as a mermaid in South Florida, and when I stumbled accross this Jet Powered Surfboard video from Hawaii, I just had to share it with you all!
The History
According to their website, JetSurf was founded in 2008 by Martina Sula. Along with developers Tadej Sterk and Zbynek Bures, JetSurf turned a old idea into reality. The three’s knowledge of combustion engines, hydromechanics, composite materials, and electrical engineering created a really cool toy, that does 35mph on the open water!
The Specs
Starting at $13500, the 86 cc – 100 cc has a max speed of 53 km/h for type Ultra Sport and 57 km/h for type Pro Race, and uses 2 liters of gas per hour. The Jetsurf is equipped with an automatic electronic control unit with auto start/stop function, and the Li-FePO4* battery has a driving time of 4 hours between charges.
